INSTRUCTOR SERVICES
Schedule a class in the Center for International Resources & Collaborative Language Engagement
Instructors have the option of meeting their classes in the CIRCLE for multimedia activities, such as oral/listening examinations, paired or grouped discussions, review of audio materials, internet activities, PowerPoint presentations, composition writing using international character sets, video viewing, etc. The CIRCLE staff will be happy to assist you in the management of your multimedia class, so feel free to bring in your ideas! Holding a class session in the CIRCLE can add flexibility to your curriculum, but as with any introduction of new material or technology, a little pre-planning goes a long way towards a seamless presentation.
- At least two days before the class, to request the use of the CIRCLE, please send an email to CIRCLE. Please include in your email the time of your class, the number of students and the proposed activities. If desired, schedule a meeting with the Director of CIRCLE before the day of the class to review in detail the class activities.
- If you have more than one activity, please provide a list of the order in which you want to complete them.
- Remind your students that the class will be held in the CIRCLE. You can either walk your class over from your classroom or ask your students to go directly to the CIRCLE.
- Be sure to inform the Director of CIRCLE in advance of any special audio or video files that will be used during your class. Conversion of audio and video formats or digitization should be arranged at least a week in advance of your class.
- For more information on holding a class in the CIRCLE, please contact the Director of CIRCLE.
iPad Loan Request
The CIRCLE has iPads that can be loaned out for either individual faculty use (2 weeks at a time) or whole class use (in which iPads are checked out to students in a particular class for use during a semester). Only WLC Faculty may request the use of these iPads. Please use the form below if you are interested in checking out an iPad for individual use.
Please contact CIRCLE if you are interested in having your students use iPads in your class. After receiving your request, CIRCLE will respond and arrange a meeting with you so that we can discuss your proposal at length. Please keep in mind that there are a limited number of iPads available, so it may not be possible to fulfill every request.
