Presentation by Dr. Barrel Gueye ~ “Gender, Literacy & Cross-Cultural Methods in International and Comparative Education.”
Dr. Barrel Gueye is an advocate of human rights and education with expertise in education, gender, international and comparative education, women and development, cultural studies and education, and social foundations of education. She teaches courses on pedagogy, gender issues, qualitative and quantitative research methods in education, and comparative cross-cultural analysis. She has coordinated educational programs in Senegal, SUNY Binghamton, and Nairobi. Dr. Gueye has directed various projects on Women’s literacy and gender and education in Sub-Saharan Africa. She is the co-founder of the Dakar Institute of African Studies and is currently teaching at the University of Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar.
