Japanese Lecturer Position

The Department of World Languages & Cultures at Georgia State University anticipates hiring a full-time, non-tenure track, Lecturer in Japanese for the 2018-2019 academic year effective August 2018 (Fall semester) pending budgetary approval.  Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Japanese pedagogy, Japanese applied linguistics, or equivalent.  Additionally, candidates must have native or near-native fluency in Japanese, and must be able to teach a variety of Japanese elementary and intermediate courses. The search committee will give particular consideration to candidates with interest and experience in foreign language acquisition, Lower Level language coordination, and student recruitment to the undergraduate program.   Ability to supervise and mentor Graduate Teaching Assistants, a plus.  The successful candidate will be expected to participate in academic advisement, evaluation of transfer credits, and other matters related to the undergraduate program.
